Brittney Ferguson, a visionary pottery and ceramic artist hailing from the city of Dallas, Texas, breathes life into her art through a unique blend of homegrown inspiration and timeless aesthetic. With a studio nestled within the confines of her own home, she transforms her creative sanctuary into a haven of artistic exploration and innovation.

Driven by a profound love for the beauty of simplicity and the allure of natural elements, Brittney's journey into the world of pottery was sparked by her innate desire to infuse her surroundings with an earthy and inviting ambiance.

"I want my home to feel like the lines are blurred between inside and outside - like you can breathe”

Drawing inspiration from the rustic charm of Spanish-style villas and the timeless elegance of stone-laden Italian architecture, she embarked on a quest to translate the essence of these elements into her creations.

At the heart of Brittney's artistic vision lies a deep appreciation for the raw beauty of terracotta and stone. Guided by a preference for the organic textures and earthy tones reminiscent of sun-kissed landscapes and the rugged allure of natural materials.

In her home studio, Brittney finds solace in the company of her loyal companion, Blue – a faithful canine companion after whom her business takes its name.

”im a hermit, I love to be home and I have an obsession with the aesthetics around me feeling like a direct reflection of me. My sister and I are both that way - we build sanctuaries specific to who we are and we’ve done it since we were kids. Rearranging or repainting our rooms every other month without permission. Everything in my sisters house is pink and covered in glitter, its like walking into Barbies Dreamhouse. She’s done it to every place she’s ever lived in and I love that about her, she doesn’t care who doesn’t get it, she HAS to be surrounded in that, i’m the exact same way but with a completely opposite color pallet”

Through her artistry, Brittney endeavors to evoke a sense of timeless tranquility, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a world where the boundary between indoors and outdoors blurs seamlessly. With each meticulously formed vessel, she invites individuals to embrace the beauty of simplicity and reconnect with the natural world, one piece at a time.

”it was such a random artistry choice but it makes complete sense at the same time, I want people to take home a piece of the way mine feels. its intimate. i’ve never been good with interior design or decorating properly, all i’m good at is making the pieces.”

As a homebody, her goal is to fill homes with the same peaceful and earthy materials that inspire her and make her feel most at home and grounded.

”My heaven really is just a big home filled with the art I love and having every space be somewhere you can feel safe but that also looks cool in any random photo. A revolving door of the people I love in and out, everyone brings their dogs and stays as long as they want until real life sets back in. Come over, cook dinner, let all the dogs run around, Skinny dip at 1am, layout in the sun all day when i’m not working. If you mix the fun parts of being an adult and the fun parts of still being a kid - that’s where I fit, that’s where i’m at home. My space has to reflect that type of outdoorsy innocent fun for me, Ceramics has given me a way to put that feeling into something and give it to someone else - its not at all just about learning a skill and profiting, I can learn to make the shape of a vase or a bowl on my wheel but what’s so important or special about that bowl, what’s the reason it exists and what type of person does it belong to. None of it has any meaning until its given one. I feel that way about every form of art, I like the intimacy in why someone made it, that’s why ill want it in my home”
